Cordless inflator: Air to go

the house, yard or garage. But a compressor is a rather bulky, heavy piece of equipment and, of course, it must be used within each reach of an electrical outlet. There are no such concerns with the new Black & Decker Cordless Air Station. This compact, lightweight unit isn't much bigger than a lunchbox, yet it can inflate a flat car tire in just a few minutes. And best of all, because it's cordless, you can use the Air Station virtually anywhere.

Image Inspiration: Copper soaking tub

I don't know about you, but that copper tub above looks mighty enticing. Especially with a roaring fire in front, it seems like the perfect way to chase away the winter chill. Now, this particular tub comes from Diamond Spas and costs a mind-boggling $23,545, so I wouldn't imagine anyone really running off to go buy it—except perhaps Warren Buffett or Donald Trump. But I do think it's a beautiful idea to have warm up a bathroom with patinated copper. The most economical way to do that is with some fixtures, but you can also find less expensive copper tubs. I actually found one, surprisingly enough, on Wal-mart's site for less than half the price of the luxe one above. And another similar, weather-worn and rustic look can also be done with a (relatively) less expensive wood tub.

The Pulverizer: Reconstruction of the hammer

There's no job too tough for the Pulverizer, a brand-new demolition tool from Ames True Temper. From busting up concrete and ripping out wood framing, to yanking nails and prying up shingles, this compact brute of a tool takes over where conventional tools stop working. And although it's meant for dirty, dusty demolition work, this is a precision-engineered tool that combines the proper heft and balance with thoughtful, user-friendly features.

Ants set to invade California?

California friends: can you tell me if this is true?: I recently read an article that said that winter rains in California generally bring BILLIONS of ants out—and it'll be even worse if El Nino hits like he's supposed to. If that's the case, I encourage all you TOH readers in the sunshine state to take the precautions listed after the jump.
